Siouxland Beekeepers

Welcome! This is the website for the association of beekeepers in Northwest Iowa. The group is comprised of dozens of people who keep bees — some professionally, most for fun — and others who simply love bees and want to save them.

Our Mission

To help all members develop the knowledge and skills for their particular focus, whether that be honey production, pollination, birthing queen bees, or just helping honeybees thrive in an environment that can be threatening to them in many new ways.

All are welcome. We encourage you to attend our meetings. The Sioux County chapter meets the 4th Tuesday of the month, usually in the Sioux Center library (location will be posted here). The Sioux City chapter meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the ISU Woodbury County Extension Office in Sioux City.

What’s Happening

"Honeybees are sweetness and light -- producers of honey and beeswax -- so it is no great wonder that humans have prized these small creatures since ancient times."

– Thomas Seeley, “Honeybee Democracy”
